A karesansui garden renders water with sand and mountains with stone. Electric Karesansui renders ink with pixels. The screen is a grid of fixed resolution; cells are born, gather, age, and dissolve by the rules of a cellular automaton — no brush, no fluid, only discrete squares and simple law. To touch is to sow; to wait is to prune. Left alone, the garden tends itself, like sand lines slowly rewritten by wind. What you see now will not occur again.
